Quail

I currently have a bunch of quail heading into the winter.  Most of them are the common brown coturnix.  I do have some Texas A & M, which are white with a few black spots here and there.  My hens are laying, so I get fresh fertile quail eggs everyday.  But I have not separated the white quail from the brown quail, so some of the hatching eggs may be a mix of any of the brown with the white.

the Texas A&M and the brown coturnix are virtually the same. They are about the same size, lay the same size and color of eggs and importantly they mature fast and start laying and are mature at about 6 weeks of age.

I have one Butler Bobwhite, not sure if it is a girl or boy yet, but it isn’t to mature until it is about 5.5 months old.

The Quail eggs are for sale for $15 per dozen for hatching eggs or $6 for eating.  You can find the eggs for sale main page for furbelow farms here

I am not currently selling my hens, but I may have a few boys for sale.  I do not plan on hatching any more quail eggs until the spring when the weather is a little more to their liking.

ll raise all of my quail from eggs that I hatch usually from my own birds.  I raise my quail  with TLC by hand, they are very domesticated as  opposed to the wild Butler Bobwhite.
